Students are divided into home groups of 4. In each home group, there is one expert on each ecosystem (rainforest, desert, wetlands, grasslands). The students then divide into expert groups to complete the recording page After research is complete, students return to their home groups and share their research. So each students has accountability by filling in the chart. The page links are found for free on www.teacherspayteachers.com.

We completed a science experiment in class where the students tested six different materials: construction paper, fabric, waxed paper, tissue paper, sand paper and grocery sacks. Students came up with a hypothesis and then were divided up into groups of three to test their hypothesis. Each group tested three materials and then recorded it on a spreadsheet. We then compared the data as a class and came to a final conclusion.
